NEW 3-month Level 1 Arabic Courses (Online)

The Level 1 Arabic programme is perfect for those who would like to learn the Arabic Language in the same manner and to the same level as it is taught at most British universities, covering the equivalent of the first year of an Arabic language degree.

The Level 1 course is a three months long programme with one lesson per week. The course is available in either a morning mode (10am-12:30pm) or evening mode (6:30pm-9:00pm).


By the end of a Level 1 course, students should: 

  • Be able read a classical text like the Qur’an and understand up to 70% of it. 

  • Have a good understanding of all the common areas of Arabic grammar. 

  • Be capable of reading, writing, and speaking using up to a thousand individual Arabic words. 

  • Be capable of general conversation in common situations. 

  • Be familiar with the ten forms of the Arabic verb and be capable of using a traditional Arabic dictionary by identifying the trilateral or quadrilateral roots of Arabic words

  • Have insight and appreciation for English grammatical concepts.

What’s included:

  • 12 weekly classes

  • Digital course materials

  • One-to-one sessions with the instructor to review completed homework

  • A certificate of completion (subject to completing 80% of homework and sitting final exam)

For this course, students are expected to:

  • attend (via Zoom) all weekly classes

  • dedicate around 5 hours of individual learning at home on a weekly basis, which will mostly comprise of written translations 


  • Although it is possible to do this course as a complete beginner to Arabic, this course is suited best for students who are familiar with the Arabic script.

Course fee: £499 (10% discount available for students and the unemployed)

NEW Classical Arabic Literature courses (Online)

Classical Arabic Literature

Our more advanced Arabic courses introduces students to classical Arabic literature, including the Quran, Hadith literature, and works of classical scholars such as Al-Ghazali, Ibn Qayyim, Al-Tahawi, An-Nawawi, Ibn Al-Muqaffa, and Al-Jahiz.


The aim of these courses is to introduce students to more advanced Arabic grammar and give students the confidence to pursue further reading of primary texts independently.

We have various courses within our Classical Arabic Literature programme which are taught at different times of the year but are all equal in level and format of teaching. For the upcoming term, the following courses will be taught:

NEW dates (June 2022 courses):

Mornings: Classical Arabic Literature - topic/book to be confirmed, every Fridays from 10am-12:30pm, starting on 24 June 2022

Evenings: Classical Arabic Literature -  Al-Ghazali's Beginning of Guidance
Every Mondays from 6:30pm-9pm, starting 27 June 2022 

The only prerequisite for these courses is that a student has completed our Level 1 course or has studied Arabic elsewhere that is of an equivalent level.

These courses allow groups of friends, family members, or colleagues to study together at a time, day, and location of their choice.
